Atherton Hospital CT Scan Extension Stage 1 & 2

Project Value - $400,000.00

Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Atherton Hospital CT Extension involved the ground works, base and columns, suspended slab, brickwork, fire services and lockup of the CT scanner extension. Careful planning and consideration was required to ensure the extension successfully interfaced with the original hospital building. This included sourcing obsolete materials such as the exterior brickwork to blend in with the original hospital appearance.

The project also involved the successful liaison with numerous hospital departments in conjunction with Project Services and QBuild to ensure minimal disruption to the hospital operations.  A high level of detail was required and implemented to accommodate the unique requirements of the specialised CT Scanner equipment.

The new extension included a plant room slab, mechanical plant room, change room, foyer, control room, procedure room and toilet. The building construction was of structurally formed concrete columns, ring beams and suspended slab, with double walled brick with wall void.
